Laurel Creek Cabin after a big snowfall!

Enjoy the peaceful mountain life in a rustic log cabin with all the modern comforts. This is an authentic log cabin built with reclaimed 19th century logs. This property includes a beautiful kitchen with professional appliances. Enjoy the serenity of sitting in front of the fire from the gas logs or listening to the stream as you rock on the decks and porches. Each bedroom has a queen bed, and the sleeping porch has a twin daybed with a twin trundle.

The comfortably appointed den also provides a queen sleeper sofa. A full bath is located upstairs, and the heated/air conditioned sleeping porch also has a full bath with a laundry center. A gas grill is provided for outdoor cooking. This cabin is nestled in a vale located just minutes away from West Jefferson and Todd and is about a 30 minute drive to Boone and Blowing Rock.

Nicest Owners EVER!
The cabin is awesome. The kitchen is amazing, the rooms are a nice size and even though it says 2 bedroom, it is more like a 3 bedroom with the sleeping porch. The location is great, it is peaceful and quiet. The front porch is awesome and has 4 rocking chairs to sit and listen to nature. But what impressed me most is how very kind the owners were. I failed to do some major things asked of me, lost my purse, and called them while we were there. ALWAYS they were kind, willing to help, willing to forgive and I will always rent from them going forward. (If they'll have us!) Great property! Could really spoil everyone.

Home away from Home
This cabin provided a wonderful experience for my wife and me with our grandchildren, ages 7 and 13.  The description and photographs were very helpful as were the previous reviews.  The cabin was beautifully maintained and equipped.  The owner was extraordinarily helpful via email and phone and all of our questions, even while were there, were promptly and effectively answered.  We enjoyed Todd and West Jefferson, the parkway, Blowing Rock, and all of the surrounding activities.  Our grandson especially loved the gem mine in Blowing Rock.  We would definitely stay there again and would heartily recommend the cabin to any of our friends and relatives.

Cabin Fever (and its owners!) are all of the good things that others have said, and more! The cabin is a perfect combination of primitive and modern. Nothing has been forgotten or overlooked in making guests feel welcomed, comfortable and at home. The location is convenient to West Jefferson, but feels secluded and private. One word description: Perfect! We will definitely be staying again and recommending this cabin to our friends.

Mimi and Grumpa head for the hills
We loved cabin Fever! We wanted to stay longer. It was Comfortable, beautifully decorated and so very well stocked (great spice cabinet). It's even nicer than the photos.  We really enjoyed the neighborhood, the rocking chairs on the porch and the fire pit. The bed in one of the bedrooms is a little saggy in the middle.  Maybe time for a new mattress? Also The internet Magic Jack service for phone did not work so that was a little difficult because AT&T cell service is "no service" in Todd and most of the surrounding area.  We are really looking forward to our next visit to cabin Fever. Love the Hillbilly Cafe in West Jefferson.

Just perfect!
My husband and I stayed here for our one year anniversary. It is absolutely perfect!  The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could ever need, and it is pet-friendly!  It was our dog's first vacation and he loved the porch and the creek that is across the road.  Internet service was great and there are TVs in each room. The owners were very quick to respond to any emails and ensured we were able to reach them at any time.  We cannot wait to plan our next trip back to this cabin!!

Wonderful Cabin!
We were so pleasantly surprised by everything about this cabin.  It is in a log cabin neighborhood with a paved street (easy traveling in the winter), the lovely mountain laurel lining the street and in front of the cabin, the creek we heard as we stepped out of the car, all the first class amenities in the cabin, owners that were a pleasure to deal with...I could go on and on!  We found this cabin to be one of the cleanest and best kept cabins we have ever stayed in.  The beds were comfortable, the furniture was comfortable, there was a flat screen t.v. in every room plus dvd players, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen including top of the line appliances, WiFi, and even a towel warmer in the bathroom...we did not want for a thing!  We shopped the Tanger outlets in Blowing Rock and even got to see a wonderful snowfall while we were there. The only bad part about our stay was that we didn't have time to do everything we wanted to do!  Thank you so much for allowing us to have a weekend to de-stress at your beautiful place...we will definitely be back!

Cozy winter escape
My fiancee and I came to NC from Miami to experience some real winter weather. We have been renting cabins in NC for the last several years. We chose this cabin because of the excellent reviews we read on this site, and we were not disappointed. Indeed, this is by far the nicest cabin we have rented. The owners have thought of every detail and made this cabin a place of luxourious living in the middle of the mountains. From the professional gas stove and stainless steel appliances to the beautiful fireplace, flat screen tv in every room, and rocking chairs on the porch, the amenities of the cabin exceeded all of our expectations. The creek running right past the property provided a soothing sound to lull us to sleep at night. The computer and phone set-up meant that we didn't have any trouble with Internet or phone service during our stay, a problem we've faced in previous cabins. The owners were extemely helpful in answering our questions and providing quick feedback and comprehensive information. The cabin is a 30-minute drive to a number of sites like Grandfather Mountain, and the easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway means that hiking trails and waterfalls are easily accessible. We enjoyed spending time in Boone and Blowing Rock, which both had elegant boutiques, artisan shops and galleries, and charming cafes and restaurants. We definitely would recommend this property to friends and relatives!

Everything you need
This was our first experience using VRBO and Claude and Jeff definitely set the bar high for our next trip with VRBO. The cabin was in a good location between Boone and West Jefferson. The cabin was very clean and has pretty much everything you need (outside of clothing and food). Some of the highlights we really enjoyed were the fire pit in the back and the towel warmer. We definitely recommend this cabin!

Wonderful Getaway
This place was just wonderful! So much more than I expected!  Usually when you see pics online of a place it's never as good as it looks.  But this was way better!  I will definitly be going back!  Close to Boone and easy to find.  The only complaint I have is that my visit was too short!

Ready to come back!
My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at "Catch Cabin Fever" and we absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was beautifully decorated and was impeccably clean. It is close enough to West Jefferson and Boone/Blowing Rock to enjoy a more city setting while still being rural. We are already planning a trip back soon! Thank you Jeff and Claude!

We visit the mountains often and have stayed in numerous cabins all over NC, but this one is, by far, my husbands favorite. As soon as we walked in he says, "wow, check this out!"  And I must agree as I've never seen such a well kept, well stocked cabin. All you need to bring is clothing and what you want to eat. This place lacks nothing! I loved sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee and a book. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We saw deer twice, the second one was eating apples from a tree next to the driveway, about 15 ft from the porch. We had no trouble falling asleep and slept late each morning. Truly a beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. We can't wait to go back there.

Doc Watson weekend
This cabin exceeded all our expectations. The owners thought of everything--coffee grinder, blender, towel warmer, hairdryers, Oh, My! It was beautiful, comfortable, quiet. A private porch (huge azaleas and butterfly bushes in front) a 2nd floor porch, a firepit, gas grill.....We'll definitely be back.

Excellent Stay - Perfect Location
As I write this review, my husband and I are sitting on the front porch of Cabin Fever listening to the sounds of the creek.  We have been here since Sunday and our stay will come to an end tomorrow.  Cabin Fever was everything we hoped for and more and was exactly the place we needed to stay to wind down from our stressful jobs.  Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.  Our temporary home has been the front porch; however, the interior of the cabin is beautiful.  Beautifully decorated, wonderful kitchen, very nice bed linens... I could go on and on.  Claude was great to work with - putting up with my incessant emails.  What a wonderful place to be!  I hate badly to leave although we will leave much more relaxed than when we arrived and with memories that will last us until the next time we make it back to Cabin Fever.   Thanks Claude and Jeff for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cabin.

Fantastic find!
So glad we stumbled upon this great home on our short notice trip. Fully appointed and very cozy, comfortable. We enjoyed everything about the home and will definately be back. Location was perfect, easy to New River tubing and shopping in Boone. Great neighborhood for walking dogs. Claude and Jeff definitely care for this home. It has everything!

Delightful and Charming Cabin!
Cabin Fever was wonderful! Its even better than the pictures! The drive up to the cabin was beautiful just as the cabin itself! Everything was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped to cook away! I highly recommend this cabin to families who still like to enjoy home cooked meals on vacation... this was a real treat compared to other rentals we had rented in the past. We enjoyed relaxing around the fire pit making S'mores! And our little furry friend enjoyed resting on the porch in the cool mountain air and watching the chipmunks! We plan to visit again! Thanks for the wonderful stay, Claude and Jeff!

Exceeded Expectations!
We rented this cabin for a family gathering prior to our son moving overseas.  Everyone was impressed by the furnishings, super well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and charming creek across the road.  Beautifully decorated; not what we're used to seeing in a rental cabin.  The owners were great to work with, accommodating and available.  It was a wonderful and relaxed home-away-from- home.  Just what we'd hoped for at this family get-together.  We plan to return!

Perfect Cabin!
I cannot describe how much I love this cabin.  There is literally nothing the owners didn't think of.  We hated to leave!  The beds and linens are wonderful.  The appliances are fantastic, not what one might expect in a mountain cabin.  I am short so I absolutely loved the adjustable shower and hello.... who doesn't love a towel warmer?  The cabin has wireless internet which is great even though I didn't want to touch my laptop while I was there!   It's also nice for "city people" who are used to having other people around yet want to be secluded.  The cabin is in a nice neighborhood so you aren't totally isolated, but the landscaping affords for complete privacy!   The cabin was also decorated beautifully.  I can't say enough positive things about Cabin Fever, it's the perfect getaway for couples and families.  Love, Love, Love!

Great Place to Stay
Great Place to Stay.  The house was Very Clean and had Everything you will need to enjoy your stay in the mountains.  The location was great for the Todd, Jefferson & Boone area. I would recommend this cabin.

Relaxing Getaway
My family and I could not have been more pleased with our stay at this amazing cabin.  The rustic decor combined with the modern appliances and amenities made for a perfect vacation getaway. The owners have provided everything you could possibly think of to insure a "feel-right-at-home" atmosphere.  Plenty of privacy yet only a short drive to shops and restaurants.  The only negative aspect of the whole trip was when we had to leave!
Amy - Galax, NC

Such a sweet place ...
We enjoyed our stay at this sweet cabin ... even better than the pictures!  Loved sitting on the front porch listening to the rain.  Awesome kitchen!  Great location ... short drive to West Jefferson or Boone.  Can't wait to get back!  Thanks for sharing your cabin with us, Jeff and Claude!!!
